Anyway, now that we're done with that little sideshow...
Pretty things arrived at the Post Office today from Germany
Why hello dere!!
Recaro LS seats from AC Nico in Germany, by way of Levent at Guten Parts. The flash is making them look brighter than they actually are. They're more of a dark Navy bue than the pics suggest. I'll be running MASSIVE brackets for the seats, unless Levent can source a set of originals for me.
Absolutely beautiful seats! Can't wait to get them installed!
I want to extend a big THANK YOU to Levent and Nico for such a great transaction!
Now that I have finished paying for these, I can start putting more money towards other things as well. My bonus check should be here within 2-4 weeks, and then I can make some real progress!
More soon!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

My friend Samir picked up a 2.93LSD for me a couple of days ago, so the trans swap is pretty much ready to go! I may drive up to Omaha tomorrow to pick up my new suspension parts, too. Looks like I'm about to be a very busy boy!
In 15 days, I will be back from Spain, and i will have my bonus check. At that point, I'll get everything needed for the S52 bottom end rebuild ordered, too.
Can't WAIT!!!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

I'll tell you what, Jamison, when you can build an engine that doesn't blow up after 2 weeks...repeatedly...you can tell me what is and isn't obvious about motor builds.
For example, you could say: "It's obvious that you shouldn't do a $2,000 motor build and then cheap out and use Metric Blues at the end, to save a few bucks."
Oh wait...that's what I told YOU...before your head lifted off the block, sidelining your car...yet again.
Go crap on someone else's thread, Jamison.
Hater, indeed.

Um, thanks for your input? I've got a grand in the headwork from a REALLY reputable shop, another grand into head bolts, rod bolts, rod bearings, main bolt caps, main bearings, etc. Another $260 in upper end gaskets.
So, JUST over $2K. No corners cut.Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.

As promised, a little update...
I drove to Omaha over the weekend to hang with buddies Adam Kemmerle and Ross Gredys. Oh, and to pick up my new suspension setup stuff for Siobhan!
The new hotness
New Koni single-adjustable strut inserts, Ireland Engineering rear spring perches, Eibach springs (650/550), new Optimal hubs & bearings & Ebay front spring perches that fit PERFECTLY!
Also have control arms with new ball joints and new outer tie rod ends that will go on Nikita, the Alpineweiss track car.
Note the very nice fab work that Ross did on the strut tubes. VERY VERY happy with his cutting & welding. I know he has another set of strut tubes to play with, so if anyone wants him to do this for them, reach out to IronFreak here on R3V!
Thanks Ross! Great seeing you guys this weekend!
More soon...

Had a few minutes to kill while waiting for our tour guide at the Hotel Vincci Centrum in Madrid. The TV in the hotel lobby was showing Formula 1, and grown men in tailored suits were cheering on Alonso.
Ah, Europe!
Anyway, here's a little list of what should be waiting for me when I return from Spain in a few days:
MASSIVE seat brackets for the Recaros LSs
MASSIVE DTM gauge panel
Manual Window regulators (for Nikita, the future track car)
Ground Control Race Camber/Caster plates for the coilovers
Most of the S52 bottom end rebuild parts including all gaskets seals, rod bearings, rod bolts, main bearings, main bearing bolt caps, etc. Haven't ordered the rings yet, though...
Also order miscellaneous other things like the valve cover gasket, serpentine belt, valve cover seals, etc...
Getting closer, and I'll be ordering more parts when I get back! I really need to sell the 3.73LSD and buy a 3.25LSD as well for the S52/ZF swap...
Plus, I'll pick up Hanne, the new DD next Saturday as well. Then things REALLY start happening with Siobhan!!!!Originally posted by LJ851kingston is the play by play announcer for this thread.
